Bill Hunt Gold Star

You know my name

posted by: Nate :: Dec 11th 2006, 00:02

Generally speaking, I think people who talk about Googling themselves tend to be somewhat arrogant. Flippantly saying 'Oh, just Google me' wouldn't make you sound like the most congenial of folks.

I do, however, Google myself on occasion, but it's usually more out of curiosity... bordering on paranoia. What I've recently discovered is that Google's top result for my name (http://www.google.com/search?q=nate+abele) is my profile page on CakeForge, and on that page is my phone number.

This discovery was the creative inspiration for my new 'personal' business card (pictured below). The other inspiration was a song I happened to be listening to. The text of the card contains a reference to this song. The first person who correctly identifies the band that sings it gets a gold star. And a prize, if I can come up with one. Leave your answers in the comments.

You know my name, Google the number.

5. Bill Hunt :: on Dec 11, 2006 Wow, my greatest dream realized!

Enjoy your site by the way. And anybody who even knows that song is clearly a hipster, so congrats on that as well.
6. Mariano Iglesias :: on Dec 16, 2006 Interesting thing to google your own name:

http://www.google.com/search?q=mariano+iglesias

brings my blog first (that rocks) and third result is bakery's home page, cool ;)

Also is freaking awesome that at least all records in the first four pages are directly related to me.

Wow, I feel like a celebrity... NOT!
7. Jonathan :: on Jan 10, 2007 My name is Jonathan Spector. I am a computer geek. I happen to have a cousin, also named Jonathan Spector, who is a soccer superstar. This makes me all but anonymous on the search engines. But hey, anonymous has some great quotes that maybe I can attribute to myself....
8. Nate :: on Jan 10, 2007 Yeah, but then you can be someone else. Even *better* than being anonymous.
