Rule Number 2
"No good deed goes unpunished." If you do the right thing, that action will have to be its own reward, because I guarantee that others will find a way to use it against you. This is because of Rule Number 1.- excerpted from the collected literary works of Paul M. Jones
I've found that a classic example of this is charities. You give them money once, and how do they repay you? The spam you with requests for even more money.
This bothers me on a philosophical level, because no matter how much money you send them, they'll just keep spamming you for even more money.
It never ends. It's a vicious cycle.
